About Braga

Braga is the 3rd largest city of Portugal that combines history and culture with mild weather, great hospitality and gastronomy. Braga has the services, choices and nightlife of a major city, along with a young and vibrant population. 

With over 2000 years of a very rich history, Braga preserves one of the oldest Sacro-Montes in Europe, including the Bom Jesus de Braga, classified as World Heritage site by UNESCO.

In Braga, you can find the oldest Portuguese Cathedral and the Motherhouse of the Benedictines, the Monastery of Tibães (Mosteiro de Tibães). 

Braga is located half an hour from the Peneda-Gerês National Park, and half an hour from the Atlantic coast, including the Northern Littoral Natural Park .
